Union Rack and Roll reopening with transformative upgrades Aug. 21 following summer renovations

Union Rack and Roll, a hidden gem located in the basement of the Purdue Memorial Union, will be reopening Monday, Aug. 21 after undergoing renovations over the summer.

The completed renovations refreshed and updated the bowling concourse area, and include the following features:

  • Pinspotter equipment for increased reliability and a more fluid bowling experience
  • A new bowling game technology called HyperBowling
  • Functionally-diverse furniture to serve academic and social environments
  • Contemporary design and fresh look throughout
  • Updated lighting, fixtures, ceiling and flooring

“The renovations really modernized the space and will provide an enhanced, unique experience for students and other patrons alike,” said Travis Huston, Union Rack and Roll and Boiler Game Mine manager. “We are especially excited about the addition of HyperBowling on the West Lafayette campus as it is the only venue in the area and the second in the state to offer this new technology.”

A grand reopening celebration for Union Rack and Roll is scheduled for Friday, Sept. 8. Event details are available on the Purdue Memorial Union events calendar.
