About Us

PURPOSE

The Purdue Student Union Board, PSUB, provides a variety of programs and services that enrich and entertain. Involvement with PSUB is an extension of your college education outside of the classroom and is a great way to get hands-on experience and develop new skills. PSUB also provides students with leadership development and serves as the voice of Purdue students in cooperative management to the Purdue Memorial Union.

HISTORY

Even before the Union was built, the Student Union Board was an active organization dedicated to serving the Purdue student body and assisted with the funding to build the Purdue Memorial Union. In 1920 the first Student Union Board consisted of five students, today there are over 100 members. As a department of the Purdue Memorial Union as well as a recognized Purdue University student organization, PSUB has provided Purdue students, faculty, staff, and the Greater Lafayette community with programs and services for over 80 years.

ACTIVITIES

Every day PSUB works hard to bring fun-filled excitement to the lives of the students, faculty and staff of Purdue University and citizens of the Greater Lafayette area through programming, event planning, and project presentations. These events range from monthly feature films to dinner theatre. People from all walks of life are invited to attend and enjoy these events- many of them at no cost! So, if you want to have an exciting night, make a PSUB event your number one choice. You can also check out our online calendar for a complete schedule of events. Think PSUB..., think fun!

INVOLVEMENT

It's easy to get involved with PSUB! Simply come to our callout, stop by the office, email or call us and we will set up a time to tell you more about PSUB. There are three levels of involvements in PSUB, each depending on your available time and what you are able to devote to the organization. Each committee area has Directors, several Project Leaders, as well as General Members who coordinate various events. The Executives oversee the administrative, financial, personnel and marketing duties of PSUB.

The great thing about PSUB is the variety of committees and ways in which you can be involved. Depending on your interests, we have several committees from which to choose - Concerts, Cultural Events, Fine Arts, Films, Homecoming, Recreation, Special Events, and Traditional Events.

MEMBERSHIP

We encourage all Purdue students to get involved and attend our events regardless of age, sex, race, color, religion, marital status, ability, political affiliation, or sexual orientation. No experience is necessary to join PSUB, just a desire to learn. PSUB works as a team to develop programs that are created by students for students! PSUB assists and encourages you to reach your goals and is a way to meet great people and have fun all at the same time!
