The name of this organization shall be the Purdue Student Union Board Alumni Association (PSUBaa). PSUBaa is an affiliate organization of the Purdue Memorial Union (Purdue Student Union Board).
The PSUBaa was organized to maintain a connection with PSUB alumni and friends, to promote projects and to raise scholarship funds and award scholarships for the benefit of PSUB.
All PSUB alumni who have served at least one full term (or have left PSUB in good standing for a co-op, study abroad, or other reasons deemed sufficient) as a PSUB Board of Directors and all Honorary Life Members are members of PSUBAA. Other Alumni and friends of Purdue University may participate in projects developed by PSUBAA.
Honorary Life Members are selected in accordance with the PSUB bylaws. Membership in the Purdue Alumni Association shall be encouraged for all PSUBAA members.
The Advisory Board shall consist of 7 voting members – three PSUB alumni shall serve as President, Vice President, and Secretary and shall serve a two-year term. The four other Advisory Board members are the Purdue Memorial Union Director or his/her designate, Program Director of the Program Department of the Purdue Memorial Union or an equivalent position of the Purdue Memorial Union, current PSUB President or his/her designate, and the immediate PSUB past president.
Advisory Board officer nominations will be solicited by the general membership of PSUBAA and the President, Vice President, and Secretary will be selected by 5/7th majority of the Advisory Board present at the business meeting. Absentee ballots will be accepted. All new Advisory Board officers will begin their term on July 1 and end their term on June 30 of even number calendar years.
The Advisory Board shall have at least one business meeting per year (Endowment Agreement specifies meeting not later than the last day of the month of April of each year). Amended Roberts Rules of Order shall be used to conduct of all meetings. The Advisory Board shall be responsible for establishing PSUBAA policies, for filling officer and/or board vacancies, for interpreting and implementing these guidelines, and for maintaining relations with other PSUB alumni.
The Advisory Board will also have the duty to select PSUBAA scholarship recipients (except the current PSUB President cannot vote on the scholarship recipients).
President
The President is the chief executive officer. He or she shall preside at all Advisory Board meetings, and at any official program of the PSUBAA. He or she shall also may appoint any committees deemed necessary to effectively transact the business of the PSUBAA. Will assist with arranging stories for the PSUBAA newsletters
Vice President
The Vice President shall assume the President’s duties in the absence of the President. Will assist with arranging stories for the PSUBAA newsletters. He or she shall be a member of the Advisory Board.
Secretary
The Secretary shall maintain the minutes and records of the Advisory Board business meetings. Will assist with arranging stories for the PSUBAA newsletters. He or she shall be a member of the Advisory Board.
Director of Alumni Relations
The Directors of Alumni Relations will serve as a liaison between the Purdue Student Union Board and its alumni. Will assist with the development of initiatives that promote active alumni participation in programs and events.
